Szilvia Rálik began her musical education as a student of Imre Ürmössy at the Béla Bartók Conservatory of Music. She first studied music teaching and chamber music under the guidance of Valéria Berdál at the Szeged Conservatory, before attaining a university degree as a student of Mária Temesi.
Her mentors include opera singer Zsuzsa Misura, and she has also participated in courses held by Júlia Hamari and Joan Sutherland. She won first place in the Simándy International Singing Competition in 2000, and received the special prize in the Rádió Singing Competition the following year. She reached an important milestone in her career when she partnered José Cura in Verdi's Otello. She regularly sings in the Czech Republic and Switzerland, but has also guested in Canada, America, Japan, Finland, Germany, Austria, and many other European countries. Her work has been recognised many times over and her honours include the Hungarian Voice of the Year title in 2004, the Prima Prize in 2010, the Liszt Award in 2014. Also in 2014, she was appointed chamber singer of the Hungarian State Opera.
