Literary and historical consultant of the Shakespeare Ball
Dr. Natália Pilli is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of English Studies, Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. She is also Member of the Board of the Hungarian Shakespeare Society.
Her research focuses on aspects of Shakespeare and the carnival, early modern popular culture, and the Hungarian reception of Shakespeare with regard to the theory of cultural memory. She has published essays in Hungarian and English in America, the UK, Italy and Hungary. She is also engaged in contemporary British plays. She has instructed amateur students’ drama groups in staging several of Shakespeare’s works and 20th century plays.
